
What made you decide to become a lawyer?
A long story and a snap decision. In essence, prior to Covid any study as a lawyer required full time University commitment. Mortgages and children made that shift somewhat difficult. With my daughter graduating during Covid, that study requirement had shifted. While celebrating her admission, she simply enrolled me (at Waikato University) and took away any excuse.

What’s the best piece of advice (work or personal) you’ve ever been given?
Example isn’t the best way to influence people. It’s the only way.

Logic. Unfortunately, not everyone likes hearing it.

The Simpsons.

Do you have any hobbies/interests outside of work?
Golf, Hockey, Fishing, Writing and travelling the United States by RV.

What do you love about your job?
 
I love the intellectual challenge and the opportunity to help educate people about how the law can benefit them. Solving problems is a distinct passion. Being involved in the law profession seems somewhat better than Sudoku.
